Infusion Services
Gunnison Valley Hospital offers infusion therapy right here in Sanpete County. We use infusion therapy to provide treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions including the administration of antibiotics or fluids for patients in the hospital to the delivery of long-term chemotherapy in an outpatient setting. Our amazing nurses play an integral role in coordinating care while keeping the patient’s best interests in mind.
Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (weight loss surgery)
Gunnison Valley Hospital provides gastric sleeve surgery as a service to patients who would benefit from major weight loss and who can commit to living a new, healthier lifestyle. The surgery reduces the size of the patient’s stomach, creating a smaller stomach or “sleeve,” and restricts the amount of food that can be eaten at one time. Following a consultation, the procedure requires an educational course led by a Registered Nurse, and a new pre-operative diet as preparation.
If you feel like you may be a good candidate for gastric sleeve surgery, contact or (435) 528-7246 to learn about the benefits, risks, complications and side effects of the procedure. After consultation with a nurse, you will be referred to the appropriate doctor.
Please note, this surgery is not usually covered by insurance.

Our trained physical therapists carefully evaluate each patient and create treatment plans that are individually tailored to the specific musculoskeletal-related condition at hand. Physical therapists also help patients with improved mobility, pain relief, and prevention of injury or disease. We believe that, by educating our patients, we form a trusted partnership in achieving health care goals.
Physical therapy is provided off-site by Therapy West at 13 East Center Street in Gunnison, Utah. Please call 435-528-7575 to set up an appointment.
Sleep Medicine
A good night’s sleep can make all the difference. Restful sleep is a vital part of the health and healing process. People who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea can have a 300 percent increase in stress hormones, and the negative effects of insulin resistance, diabetes and other related conditions can increase significantly as a result. When sleeping disorders are treated correctly, however, a good night’s rest can reduce the risk of a heart attack and stroke by 50 percent. Sleep can also increase the efficiency of your heart by an average of 33 percent.
Some common sleeping disorder symptoms include:
- Loud and chronic snoring.
- Choking, snorting or gasping during sleep.
- Long pauses in breathing.
- Daytime sleepiness, no matter how much time you spend in bed.
Gunnison Valley Hospital’s Sleep Center offers a comprehensive sleep study program, overseen by the talented Robert D. Pearson, M.D. Consult your physician to schedule an appointment if you think you may be suffering from a sleep disorder.
