Dr. Sean J. Henderson earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Utah. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. He went on to complete his urology residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 2010 – 2015. During his residency training, he received many recognitions for his devotion to patients and research including the 2014 – 2015 resident of the year, served as chief urology resident during his last year of training, and was nationally recognized for the 2015 ACOS (American College of Osteopathic Surgeons) resident achievement award. He later served as a board member of the ACOS for 2 years.
Because of his love for helping and treating cancer patients, he pursued additional training completing a fellowship in robotic surgery for urological oncology and reconstruction using the da Vinci® Robotic platform at Ohio Health Methodist Hospital, a member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network®, in Dublin, Ohio from 2015-2016.
He has been practicing in Utah since August 2016. He is an active member of the American Urological Association and is board certified in Urological Surgery. He has served in many leadership positions while being here in Utah which include the director of robotic surgery at Timpanogos Regional Hospital as well as the urology department chair at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. He treats a wide range of urological diseases with a focus on minimally invasive procedures including genitourinary reconstruction and urological cancers using the robotic platform.
He enjoys outdoor activities and sports including skiing, surfing, and hockey. He enjoys running for exercise and has ran the Boston Marathon in 2015 raising over $5,000 for a charity for children. He loves spending time with his family. He is married to the love of his life and together, he and his wife have 4 children.
